About the Smithsonian Institute National Air & Space Museum
The National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution is a museum in Washington, D.C. In 2019, Potomac Abatement, Inc. began asbestos removal and demolition throughout the galleries and presentation spaces inside this treasured museum. Alongside General Contractor, Clark/Smoot/Consigli, this is multi-stage work. The project marks the museum’s first major renovation since the museum opened in 1976. The renovation project includes the complete refacing of the exterior cladding, replacement of outdated mechanical systems, and other improvements.
